Just remembered this wild case from a few years back - Robert Farkas from Miami got hit with over a year in prison for that massive Centra Tech ICO scam. Dude and his crew basically invented an entire fake executive team and claimed they had like 38 money transmitter licenses they never actually had. Classic fraud playbook.

They managed to pull $25 million from investors back in 2017 with all these lies about crypto debit cards and legitimate partnerships. The crazy part? They got caught, and the feds seized a ton of ether from the company - ended up selling it for like $33.4 million. So they actually recovered more than what got stolen, which is honestly rare in these cases.

Farkas had to forfeit over $347k plus a Rolex watch bought with fraud money, plus three years supervised release after his time. His co-conspirators Trapani and Sharma went down too. It's one of those reminders that the early ICO days were absolutely wild with scams, and the consequences do eventually catch up with people.
