Just been looking into what's the least expensive new car options out there and found some solid picks from a couple years back. So apparently if you're trying to find the least expensive new car without sacrificing too much, you've got some decent choices under 25k.
The Mitsubishi Mirage was sitting at like 18k starting price - honestly pretty wild for a new vehicle. People say it's slow but it's practical for city driving which I get. Then there's the Kia Forte around 21k, Nissan Sentra also in that range, Hyundai Elantra at like 22-23k, Toyota Corolla around 23k and the Volkswagen Jetta just under 25k.
Obviously these are older model year prices but the least expensive new car category usually stays pretty consistent year to year. What's interesting is most of these have decent fuel economy and aren't completely stripped down. The Corolla's probably the safest bet if you want reliability with affordability mixed in.
Anyone actually shopping for something like this right now? Curious if prices have shifted much since these numbers came out.
