Just looked at some traffic safety data and it's wild how much the worst drivers cluster in certain US cities. Albuquerque tops the list with the highest rates of distracted and drunk driving fatalities, followed pretty closely by Memphis. Detroit, Tucson, and Kansas City round out the top five—all showing crazy high numbers for fatal accidents per capita. What caught my eye is that speeding and drunk driving are consistently the biggest killers across these cities. Like, Kansas City has the worst speeding-related crash rate, while Memphis leads in drunk driving incidents. The data's based on recent years, but honestly these patterns probably haven't changed much. If you're driving in any of these places, staying focused and sober seems like the bare minimum. Insurance companies definitely track this stuff too—your rates will reflect how risky your city is if you're not careful behind the wheel.
