So I've been digging into this Gartner report on agentic AI, and the numbers are pretty interesting. Only 5% of enterprise apps actually embed AI agents right now in 2025, but they're predicting that jumps to 40% by end of 2026. That's an 8x expansion in basically one year.
What caught my attention is the urgency they're flagging. C-suite execs at software companies literally have a 3-6 month window to define their agentic AI strategy or risk getting left behind. That's not a casual timeline.
If we're talking best case, agentic AI could drive 30% of all enterprise app software sales by 2035, up from just 2% now. That's a massive secular shift happening right in front of us.
Two companies worth watching here are UiPath and ServiceNow. UiPath is the world's largest RPA company, and they're evolving their software robots into intelligent AI agents. They launched an enterprise-grade platform last year that blends RPA tools, AI agents, and human assistants into unified workflows. Their platform can embed AI agents that execute multi-step tasks across different interfaces. Pretty wild stuff. They're already working with 950 customers who are developing AI agents to orchestrate over 365,000 processes.
ServiceNow is another early mover. Their cloud platform helps organizations automate workflows, and they just launched their AI Platform with a control tower for orchestrating and governing agents. Like UiPath, they're letting companies embed AI agents while keeping humans in the loop to coach and refine behavior. Their CEO basically said agentic AI is the only way to survive now.
The growth projections are solid. UiPath's revenue and adjusted EBITDA are expected to grow at 10% and 22% CAGRs from fiscal 2025 to 2028. ServiceNow is even faster at 19% and 20% CAGRs for the same period.
What makes this interesting is that both companies help enterprises streamline operations and cut costs. That means when economic pressure hits, companies double down on these tools rather than backing away. More companies will embrace agentic AI adoption when they're looking to reduce headcount and improve efficiency. That's a pretty durable tailwind for these businesses long-term.
