Just came across something interesting about Representative Jamie Raskin's finances. Apparently his net worth took a hit last year - dropped about $100K in the stock market during one month alone. The guy's sitting at around $4.9M total wealth, which puts him at 135th richest in Congress. Not bad, but definitely not top tier money compared to some of those other politicians.
What caught my eye was his trading activity. He's got roughly $1.3M in publicly traded stocks that are being tracked, and there's data on about $600K worth of his trades from STOCK Act filings. One of his bigger moves was selling off up to $100K of a stock ticker back in July 2024. Pretty standard stuff for someone in his position I guess.
The fundraising numbers are actually more impressive than his personal net worth situation. Jamie Raskin pulled in $1.2M in Q1 fundraising last year, which ranked 23rd among all the Q1 reports that cycle. About 91% came from individual donors, which is pretty solid. He had $5.4M cash on hand at the end of that period.
It's wild how much detail we can see into these politicians' finances now. Jamie Raskin's net worth fluctuations are basically public record at this point. Makes you wonder what the average person would think if their investment moves were this transparent.
