So I just found out dogs can actually have oranges and honestly it's kind of a game changer for my pup. Like, I was peeling one the other day and my dog was staring at me with those eyes, and turns out it's totally safe to share a slice or two. Apparently oranges have tons of vitamins and minerals that are good for them—vitamin C, fiber, potassium, all that stuff. But here's the thing, you gotta be careful because too much can mess with their stomach pretty bad.

I did some digging and the general rule seems to be like 1 to 3 slices max, and it should only be like 10% of what they eat in a day. Also you definitely need to peel it first and get the seeds out because apparently those can have some nasty stuff in them. One vet I read about said fresh oranges are way better than the canned ones since those have a ton of added sugar.

The hydration thing is actually pretty cool too—oranges are like 90% water so on hot days when your dogs are panting around, it's a decent treat. And if your dog has weight issues, it's better than regular dog treats. Though I guess if your dog has diabetes you should skip it because of the sugar content.

I'm thinking of giving my dog the occasional orange slice now just as a little treat, not like a regular thing since their regular food already has all the nutrients they need anyway. Have you tried giving your dogs have oranges before? Curious if anyone's dog actually liked them or if mine's just weird about it.
