Just realized how much I've been overspending on groceries lately, so I went down a rabbit hole looking at save on groceries apps that actually work. Turns out there are some solid options I didn't know about.

Started with Checkout 51 and Fetch since they're pretty similar—you just snap photos of receipts and get cash back. Fetch seems to have way more eligible items though, and you can turn rewards into gift cards for basically everywhere. The receipt uploading thing alone is worth it since you get points even without specific offers.

Flipp is different because it's more about finding deals before you shop. You can see weekly sales from like 2000+ retailers in one app instead of jumping between a dozen websites. They claim you can save up to 20% with it, which honestly sounds doable if you actually use it.

There's also Flashfood if you're cool with buying stuff that's about to expire—they discount perishables like crazy, sometimes 50% off. Kind of a win-win since you save money and stores cut waste. Capital One Shopping works too but it's more for online grocery shopping on Amazon and Walmart.

Honestly though? Your grocery store probably has its own app that does most of this. Target, Kroger, Publix all have digital coupons and personalized deals built in. I've been sleeping on my store's app when I could've been using it the whole time. The save on groceries app game is real once you start actually using these tools instead of just downloading them and forgetting about it.
