Just saw that UBS is bringing in Sarah Youngwood as their new Group CFO starting in May. She's coming from JPMorgan Chase where she's been running the finance side of their consumer banking business since 2016. Pretty solid background honestly - spent like 14 years in JPM's investment bank across Paris, London, and New York before that.
What's interesting is that the current CFO Kirt Gardner is stepping down after a decade with UBS. He's been in the role since 2016 and apparently decided it's time to move on to other things. Kirt Gardner will stick around for a couple months to help with the transition though, which seems like a smooth handoff.
Youngwood's got experience leading global tech finance too, plus she's been heading up diversity and inclusion initiatives at JPM. So UBS is getting someone with pretty diverse experience. Curious to see how she settles into the role - big shoes to fill after Kirt Gardner's tenure.
