So Mark Cuban finally got ivermectin listed on his Cost Plus Drugs platform and actually reached out to Elon Musk about it. This whole thing started back in June when someone called him out on Twitter for not stocking it - like how it's basically pennies in Africa but costs way more here. Musk chimed in saying 'good question' and Cuban was like yeah we'll look into it.
Fast forward to December and Cuban posts that they now have it available, telling Musk his companies could save massive amounts on employee healthcare costs. The pricing is pretty wild too - Cost Plus Drugs has it at like $3 per pill versus $6+ through normal pharmacies. That's the whole point of Cuban's model, cutting out middlemen to bring drug costs down.
What's interesting is Cuban's basically been saying this works for his other customers too, especially X users apparently. The guy's been pretty vocal about how broken drug pricing is in America and keeps pushing this cost-plus model as the solution. Whether Musk actually took him up on it though, no idea. But the broader point about pharmacy markups and how much companies could save is pretty legit.
