Iranian Foreign Minister and Vietnamese Foreign Minister Hold Phone Call to Discuss Regional Situation and Bilateral Relations
Iranian Foreign Minister Aliragchi spoke by phone with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hai Trung on the 2nd to exchange views on the regional situation and bilateral relations. Aliragchi said that the United States and Israel carried out military attacks on Iran, causing serious casualties, and that such actions violate international humanitarian law. Iran emphasized that the military actions it took constitute legitimate self-defense. He pointed out that the main insecurity factors facing the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz are the military aggression against Iran by the United States and Israel, and said that, based on the principles of international law, the waterway has been closed to vessels of countries participating in military actions against Iran, while vessels from other countries can still pass through in coordination with relevant Iranian authorities. Vietnam said that all countries should respect sovereignty and territorial integrity, comply with international law, oppose the use of force, and call for the restoration of regional peace and stability as soon as possible. In addition, Vietnam expressed condolences over the deaths of Iran’s then Supreme Leader Khamenei and related personnel. (CCTV News)
