Trump Threatens to Bomb Iran, Iran Rejects Negotiations While Blockade Remains in Place

Donald Trump issued a stern warning through his Truth Social account ahead of the planned second round of negotiations in Pakistan, Sunday (19/4). Trump said he would order military strikes against all power plants and bridges in Iran if a peace agreement is not reached this week. The U.S. negotiation team led by Vice President JD Vance reportedly departed for Islamabad to demand the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program.
Meanwhile, Iran, through Tasnim media, said it has not decided to send a negotiation team to Pakistan. Iran insists it will not proceed with the diplomatic process while the U.S. naval blockade in their waters is still in effect. This stance reinforces Iran’s position that lifting the blockade is an absolute requirement before sitting down at the negotiating table with Trump’s envoys.
This diplomatic deadlock occurs only two days before the ceasefire period ends. Trump warned that refusing the proposed peace negotiations would lead to the total destruction of infrastructure, while Iran’s military continues to maintain the closure of access in the Strait of Hormuz.
