On April 2nd, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A foreign media reporter asked whether Iran has sought security guarantees from China, and if such guarantees could lead the U.S., Israel, and Iran to reach a ceasefire agreement. Has Iran made such a request to China? Has China responded? “Since the outbreak of the Iran conflict, China has been actively working towards peace and stopping the fighting. We have already released information about the meeting between the foreign ministers of China and Pakistan; you can check it,” Mao Ning said. “What I can tell you is that China supports all efforts conducive to peace, and we are also willing to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties to continue playing a role in restoring peace in the Middle East.” (Beijing Daily)
