On April 2nd, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked: Is China considering or planning to undertake any international cooperation to ensure the safety of oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz? Mao Ning stated that indeed, all parties are very concerned about whether the Strait of Hormuz can quickly restore peace and stability and achieve safe navigation. Because the strait and its surrounding waters are a very important international cargo and energy trade route. The current key is to stop military actions as soon as possible; only then can peace and stability be restored in the Middle East and Gulf regions. This is the situation that the international community hopes for, and all parties should make efforts toward this. China is also willing to continue playing a role in this. (CCTV News)
