ByteDance responds to layoffs at Wuhan R&D center: the reports are false

Recently, online reports claimed that ByteDance’s Wuhan R&D center will officially shut down in mid-June. ByteDance responded, saying that due to recent business adjustments, 50 employees will relocate their offices, and that the online claim that “all employees have been laid off in ByteDance Wuhan” is untrue. Currently, ByteDance has more than 2,000 employees in Wuhan, covering multiple businesses including life services, Dongchedi, Feishu, Jiliang Engine, Volcano Engine, and others, and it will continue to increase investment in Hubei.
