A South Korean forgery gang accepts cryptocurrency payments to sell fake university diplomas, priced at around $200.
Mars Finance reports that, according to DL News, a fake group in South Korea is selling counterfeit official documents to users via Telegram, primarily accepting cryptocurrency or digital gift card payments. Among them, a replica Yonsei University graduation certificate costs about $200, an enrollment proof is priced at around $100, and fake overseas university diplomas are sold for approximately $341. The report states that the related group also provides forged materials such as driver’s licenses, kinship proof, criminal record certificates, and bank loan documents. South Korean police said that between 2021 and 2023, the number of arrests for forgery cases nearly doubled.
