I have a friend who works in the hotel industry, and he shared a few little hotel secrets with me!

1. A man and a woman go to open a room—whoever goes in first checks in first, and the one who goes in later can just follow along; the front desk just pretends they didn’t see anything. Don’t go to the front desk to ask—what if you didn’t bring your ID? Don’t ask whether you can register only one person. (If you ask, the answer is no.)
2. Normally, when you go to eat breakfast at economy and mid-range chain hotels, basically nobody checks, because hotels have lower room occupancy and generally no dedicated staff to handle it. So just book a room without breakfast, then follow the crowd and mix in openly to go eat. But this doesn’t work for high-end chain hotels.
3. If you leave the hotel for more than 30 days, Hat Uncle will look for you and ask you to recall what happened in the hotel. You must be sure to tell the truth by your conscience—because the surveillance data is usually stored for 15 days (up to 30 days at most).
This is about general situations and applies to most hotels.
