In April, the crypto industry suffered severe losses from hacker attacks, with total losses exceeding $600 million, involving at least 13 protocols and platforms. Drift Protocol was stolen for approximately $285 million on April 1, making it the second-largest security incident in Solana’s history; Kelp DAO was stolen for about $292 million on April 18, becoming the largest DeFi hacker incident of 2026 to date. Other incidents include Hyperbridge losing about $2.5 million, Rhea Finance losing $18.4 million, and Grinex losing approximately $15 million. Multiple incidents have been traced back to hacker groups related to North Korea.
