Iranian Foreign Minister speaks with the UK Foreign Secretary, warns the UK not to participate in illegal actions against Iran
The reporter from CCTV learned that on March 20, local time, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi held a phone call with UK Foreign Secretary Cooper to exchange views on the current situation in the region. Araghchi said that the United States and Israel violated all international principles and rules by attacking Iran. He also set out Iran’s defensive measures in response to U.S.-Israeli military actions, and criticized the United Kingdom and some European countries for their passive and biased attitude toward such flagrant violations of international law. Araghchi warned against providing any assistance to the U.S. and Israel and against getting involved in illegal actions targeting Iran. The Iranian foreign minister strongly criticized the UK’s actions in providing the United States with military bases, and said that such actions will be regarded as participation in military operations. Meanwhile, Iran reserves the right to defend its national sovereignty and independence. Regarding the current situation in the region and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi said that this is the result of U.S. and Israel’s military actions, and pointed out that the way to normalize the situation is to stop military operations while ensuring that such military actions do not happen again.
