According to Glassnode, the network’s smoothed 7-day moving average computing power since the beginning of the month has recovered from ~978 EH/s to ~992 EH/s. Since March, the value has steadily remained below the key level of 1 ZH/s.

Data: Glassnode. Based on Hashrate Index data, amid the decline in Bitcoin’s mining difficulty and the recovery of the asset’s quotes to $78 000, the hash price increased from approximately $35 per PH/s per day to more than $36. The cryptocurrency price drawdown adjusted the profitability metric to values between these two milestones.

Low network activity and stagnation in Bitcoin’s price prevent miners from getting close to the break-even point, DL News reports.

According to The Block, the share of fees in miners’ revenue fell below 1% last year, and in the past few months it approached 0.5%.

“In short, the situation is not very good. There are currently no positive factors that would support further investments in new mining ventures,” Luxor CEO Nick Hansen said to the outlet.

He also called the diversification of miners into the AI sphere a serious threat to the industry.

In the top executive’s assessment, the level of concern for the industry has already reached “six to seven points.”

Recall that in the first quarter, publicly listed mining companies sold 32,000 BTC, which exceeded the figure for all of 2025.
