There’s an older guy in the group, and his ID is “Withdraw and Close Account Once Profitable.”
He used to talk a lot—about moving average support, golden crosses and death crosses, a whole set of them—like a stock analyst. $RAVE When the price first started to drop, he sent a voice message in the group, full of vigor: “Don’t panic. This is a technical correction. At this level, the main force is accumulating positions—hold on!”
When it fell to six yuan, he said it was a shakeout, and he added another buy himself.
$RAVE
When it fell to three yuan, he said it was an absolute bottom—he’d have to sell his house and still buy.
When it hit one and a half, he sent a screenshot. In the holdings profit-and-loss column, the numbers were so green they looked pitch-black. No one replied in the group—only one person silently sent a “fist” salute emoji.
Later, he barely spoke anymore. Occasionally he’d pop up at midnight, send out a single “sigh” character, then withdraw it.
Yesterday, RAVE dropped again. That familiar avatar suddenly lit up, and he sent a message: “Brothers, I’ve closed my account.”
In the group, things instantly got lively. Someone sent firecrackers, someone wrote “Congratulations on your liberation,” and someone asked how much he had left. He didn’t answer that question—he only said: “Not ‘close the account once I’m back in profit.’ I close it once I’ve figured things out.”
Then he left the group.
I suddenly feel a bit impressed by him—not because he stopped losses, but because he finally admitted that that candlestick won’t turn upward just because you’re holding on for a long time. That dog-ass dealer won’t get soft just because you’re losing more. The market isn’t your mother; it won’t coddle you.
After he left, the group became much quieter. Occasionally someone would give trade calls, and some people would post their trading screenshots, but you could never hear that confident, full-throated “hold on” again.
I don’t know what he’s doing now. Maybe sleeping. Maybe looking for a job. Maybe scrolling through recruitment apps. At least, he doesn’t have to wake up startled in the middle of the night anymore—open the chart app, take a look, and then keep his eyes open until dawn.
