ByteDance sells Mojing Technology for over $6 billion, further focusing on AI strategy

ByteDance announced that it has reached a final agreement to sell Mutong Technology with Savvy Games Group, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). The sale price exceeds $6 billion. Mutong Technology is a well-known developer and publisher of the Southeast Asian MOBA mobile game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), which was acquired by ByteDance in 2021. It is reported that ByteDance has made major investments in the AI direction; with overall profits declining in Q4 2025, the sale of Mutong is seen as a signal that ByteDance is further shifting its strategy to focus on AI.
