These days, I've been "educated" again by the attention economy: whenever a hot topic switches, I tend to get itchy to chase after it. After chasing, I realize I haven't bought an asset, but someone else's emotions. To put it plainly, what cuts you isn't the project, but the attitude of "if I wait any longer, there won't be a chance."

Seeing a certain mainstream public chain upgrade/hard fork, everyone in the group is guessing whether the ecosystem will migrate en masse. My first reaction was actually to want to lay in wait... Then I thought, whether to migrate or not is beyond my control. The only thing I can control is: not to act during the loudest noise, and to observe for a few days whether real users and funds are staying on the chain. If the hype subsides and it still stands, it's not too late to study it slowly.

Anyway, I've set a rule for myself now: only follow a few narratives. If I don't see signals like "I understand + I'm willing to hold for a while," I’ll just keep lying low. It’s pretty discouraging; missing out makes me itchy, but at least I won't keep paying tuition to the same script over and over. That's it for now.
