Stuck in the mempool waiting for confirmation in the morning, it really feels like waiting in line to buy coffee: you think you've already placed the order, but in reality, you've just slipped a small slip of paper into the queue. During congestion, your transaction gets pushed to the back by a bunch of more urgent (and also more generous with tips) transactions, and sometimes someone "cuts in line"—by paying a higher fee for the same operation, directly overwriting yours. What's even more frustrating is watching the pending status and starting to imagine all sorts of scenarios: Did I sign it incorrectly? Is there a trap in the contract again? Anyway, every extra minute of waiting adds a new scene to the bug-filled drama in my mind.
Recently, AI agents placing orders automatically have become quite popular. Some boast about "an entirely automated on-chain life," but I’m more worried about them randomly retrying or speeding up during congestion, turning into a speed-up crash if safety details aren’t carefully handled. I regret not being patient enough to double-check the nonce and parameters before hitting confirm… For now, I’ll just go and review the transaction hash tonight to comfort myself.
