These days, I keep seeing a bunch of memes and celebrities shouting buy signals flooding the screens, attention shifting so quickly... Honestly, ordinary people really shouldn't keep thinking about catching the last wave, especially when stuck on the mainnet gas with that suffocating feeling of "want to run but can't."
My current compromise is pretty simple: for small daily transactions, try to use L2 as much as possible for a smooth experience and low mistake costs; when I really need to go on the mainnet, I save up and do it all at once, making the transaction clean and avoiding unnecessary back-and-forth, treating gas as tuition. As for staking, stacking layers looks pretty good visually, but crossing back and forth, granting permissions everywhere, makes risk isolation even harder.
If I hadn't rushed onto the mainnet during peak times just to save effort, I might have paid less in "emotional taxes"... Anyway, I now prefer to go slow, like raising succulents—survive even with less watering.
