Thinking quietly, what exactly has modularization changed for someone like me, a end-user? To put it simply: the blockchain is becoming more like a backend with replaced parts, while the frontend remains the same buttons.
Transfers, interactions, and the feeling of farming airdrops might be smoother, and the fees might be lower, but the risks are more dispersed—originally, I only worried about one chain, now I have to watch the data layer, the ordering layer, bridges, who holds permissions, who takes the blame if something goes wrong, and whether there are emergency plans.
Recently, the NFT royalty debate is the same—people arguing whether creators should get paid.
I'm more concerned about whether the rules are hardcoded or can be changed with a single click.
Slow down if needed, at least I can sleep peacefully.
