To ease public concerns about whether the 2026 USA, Canada, and Mexico World Cup can be held safely, Mexican President on the 6th announced a related security plan. Nearly 100,000 security personnel will be deployed in the three World Cup host cities—Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey—to ensure the safety of fans. It is reported that this security plan will cover Mexico’s World Cup host cities and nearby tourist destinations. Roman Villarreal Barrios, head of Mexico’s World Cup coordination center, said the country will deploy a total security force of more than 99,000 people, including 20,000 military personnel, 55,000 police officers, and private security personnel. The plan will also mobilize about 2,500 military and civilian vehicles, 24 aircraft, and equipment such as anti-drone systems. In addition, the Mexican government is coordinating relevant security issues with the United States and Canada. (CCTV News)
