Wu said he learned that, according to Sing Tao Daily, two mainland men with double-entry permits (27-year-old business consultant Wang Bochuan and 24-year-old sales clerk Xu Zilan) were originally charged with raping a woman at the Mong Kok Royal View Hotel on November 4, 2025.

The prosecution applied to withdraw the charges at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court on April 18, and the application was approved.
The two defendants have been remanded in custody since mid-November last year.
The prosecution had opposed one of the defendant's legal fee application, arguing that both had admitted to having sexual relations with the complainant and that the delay in providing phone passwords "self-incriminated" them.
However, the acting principal magistrate believed that the defendants did not self-incriminate and ultimately approved the legal fees.
Earlier reports indicated that both individuals previously worked at ME (formerly MetaEra) in BD roles.
