Recently, there has been a surge of social mining, points, and badges flying everywhere. As I keep doing it, I start to feel anxious: am I "building identity," or am I being led around by tasks? Whenever new L1/L2 incentives launch and pull in TVL, old users complain that "mining, selling, and taking profits" isn't without reason. Everyone is rushing for the leaderboard, then turning around and cashing out, leaving only a bunch of useless badge screenshots...
Now I’ve set a simple, dumb rule for myself: I prefer lower interaction frequency, stop when gas fees are high, use the same address as little as possible, and avoid crossing the line into chaos just to "look active." Honestly, points, no matter how attractive, aren’t worth draining my time—especially those daily check-ins, reposts, and group chats that make people numb after a while. Anyway, what I care more about is: do I still want to use this thing a year from now? If not, forget it. Save some energy to see what’s really happening on the chain.
