Ghanaian government protests attack on Ghanaian camp by UNIFIL forces
On the 7th, the Ghanaian government issued a statement saying that it has formally protested to the United Nations, urging an impartial investigation into the missile attack on the Ghanaian contingent of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The statement said that the attack violated international law and constituted a war crime. Ghana strongly condemned the attack, calling for those responsible to be identified and held accountable. The Ghanaian government also urged the United Nations to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Ghanaian peacekeeping personnel and all members of the mission serving with UNIFIL. The Ghanaian armed forces issued a statement on the 6th saying that during clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the headquarters of the Ghanaian contingent of UNIFIL was hit by a missile, resulting in two Ghanaian peacekeepers being seriously injured.
