Sam Altman Hit With Sexual Abuse Lawsuit By His Own Sister
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has filed a motion to dismiss punitive damages claims in the civil lawsuit filed by his sister, Annie Altman.
▪️ Filing made on April 15 in St. Louis federal court
▪️ Annie alleges sexual abuse between 1997–2006, starting when she was 3 and Sam was 12
▪️ Lawsuit originally filed in January 2025
▪️ Sam denies all allegations and is countersuing for defamation, seeking just $1
▪️ Altman family claims Annie has mental health issues and made "extortionate" financial demands
▪️ Missouri law, Sam argues, does not allow punitive damages in such cases
On top of this, Altman faces Elon Musk's $134B lawsuit trial on April 27, accusing OpenAI of betraying its original mission.
