When it comes to on-chain privacy, my expectations are really low right now: don’t count on “full anonymity without any problems,” and don’t treat “compliance” like a talisman. To put it plainly, the blockchain is just a big public square—every step you take can be replayed and rechecked by people with a magnifying glass; it’s only a question of whether you’re worth staring at.

Recently, around that mainstream public chain’s upgrade/maintenance, the chat has started speculating again whether the ecosystem will “move house.” I’m actually more worried that “wherever you go, it’s all the same”: switching to another chain doesn’t mean switching your fate, and address profiling can still be pieced together. People who’ve been rug-pulled twice just want to remind themselves of one thing: I treat complexity as the enemy—if I can avoid linking one more contract, I do; if I can keep a smaller position, I keep it smaller… for now, that’s it.
