Recently, Layer 2 projects are all about comparing TPS, costs, and subsidies, and it's been quite lively. But I, who only look at daily charts, care more about the "reliability of the project"—that slow variable. Beginners wanting to assess credibility, honestly, there are only three things: don't just look at stars on GitHub, check if there are continuous commits recently and who made the key changes; don't just see "audited," look at what the scope covers, whether there are any lingering issues, and how the team responds; and don't be scared by the term multi-signature upgrades—it's basically who can toggle the protocol—whether the signers are decentralized, the threshold is high, and if there's a timelock (giving you reaction time). Anyway, I’d rather miss out on some hype than rely on phrases like "we will upgrade soon" as a shield.
