Whenever a new hot topic comes up, I get itchy to jump in. Seeing things like "social mining" and "fan token"—that attention-based mining approach—my first thought is: here we go, gotta queue up again... But honestly, the easiest target to get burned is someone like me, who’s impulsive. I rush in, only to find the liquidity is as thin as paper, and once the hype passes, no one’s there anymore.

Now I’ve come up with a simple trick: only chase hot topics I understand how to exit from. For example, after the market opens, first check if there are real people buying on the chain (not just a script with the same amount repeated), then see if there’s ongoing discussion and secondary creations—not just KOLs using the same scripted language. Also, I set a time window for myself: if I don’t see the expected results within 24 hours, I give up and withdraw. Don’t fall in love with attention. Anyway, hot topics rotate faster than my reaction speed, so staying alive is the most important.
