I just brewed a cup of tea and casually checked out a few PFP communities, and it turned out that the most discussed topic is still: “Can the next wave of narrative lift the floor?” Basically, whether the PFP/membership model is long-term value or short-term attention seems to depend entirely on whether there’s something that can keep people around. Good-looking profile pictures can only hold for a bit; if you truly want it to last, you still need a sense of ongoing identity, benefits that aren’t too hollow, and preferably even something that you’d actually be willing to participate in. I personally only threw in 30u to try joining a membership—after not opening the channel for three days, I started to feel guilty: what exactly am I paying for?
Lately, everyone’s been arguing about interest-rate cuts expectations, the U.S. dollar index, and risk assets moving up and down together—so the mood comes fast and goes just as fast. If a brand only feeds on this slice of hot attention, it’ll cool down quickly too. In any case, what I care about more right now is: even if the market is just moving sideways for an hour, do I still feel like I want to say something in this community?
