Have you guys also been confused lately by the words "hardware wallet/multisig/social recovery"? I see discussions in the group that are like choosing a talisman... Honestly, it still depends on your asset size and how afraid you are of trouble. For small amounts, I think there's no need to overcomplicate things; a hardware wallet plus backing up your seed phrase securely is enough—don't turn security into a new risk source.
Once you reach a certain amount and can't sleep at night, multisig is more reassuring, but you have to accept slower transfers and an extra step in operations, plus coordinating if partners or devices are lost.
Social recovery is quite suitable for those "I really can't remember or am afraid of losing" people, but you need to choose reliable recovery contacts; otherwise, you're just handing your keys to emotional fluctuations in your social circle.
Recently, that mainstream public chain is about to upgrade/maintain again. Guess whether the project will migrate? I’ve at least cleared my authorizations and reduced my positions. When on-chain issues happen, only assets you can move are truly assets.
