Wu Shuo learned that, according to a post on X by ZODL, Zcash has released zcashd v6.12.1, and the Zcash Foundation has simultaneously released Zebra v4.3.1, fixing four security vulnerabilities, including an Orchard action encoding flaw that could cause node crashes and potentially trigger consensus split issues between two types of clients. The official statement says that mining pools running both implementations have completed patch deployment, and no signs of vulnerabilities being exploited have been found so far; users' funds and privacy are unaffected, and there is no ZEC inflation risk. The official recommends users upgrade as soon as possible and check the announcement for full details.
