Sei will shut down IBC inbound transfers. Users holding cross-chain assets should transfer out as soon as possible.
Sei Official Announcement: The Sei v6.4 upgrade has added a protocol-level switch to “Disable inbound IBC transfers,” which will be officially enabled through a governance proposal in the future.
If users hold some IBC assets on Sei, it is recommended to bridge them out to the original chain as soon as possible before the proposal passes; otherwise, related Cosmos native assets will no longer be transferable to Sei, and users may face the risk of assets being unrecoverable.
Currently, assets that need to be processed as soon as possible include: USDCet (Wormhole Ethereum USDC), USDCop (Wormhole Optimism USDC), USDTbs, ATOM, WBTC.
This adjustment is part of Sei’s promotion of SIP-3, transitioning the network upgrade to “EVM-only chains.”
