Today the chain was congested again for a while, and I just stared at the mempool in a daze: You think clicking send is the end, but actually you're going to queue. Miners/packagers in the queue prefer to pick the "more attractive" transactions; if your gas is too low, it stays hanging, if it's too high, someone else might cut in line, and even the same transaction can be targeted by various bots to manipulate the narrative. The most annoying thing is watching your wallet show "Pending Confirmation," and your mindset starts to drift: Should I accelerate, cancel, or send another transaction to bump myself up... The more anxious you are, the more likely you are to pay extra tuition. Anyway, I now have just three words: Stop. Stop sending multiple transactions, pause to check current congestion and your slippage settings, stop reading those interpretations that force ETF fund flows/US stock risk appetite into "the next move must go up or down," whether the chain is congested or not is just like emotional fermentation, both can deceive you into impulsiveness. That's all for now.
