Just realized the stock market's closed on June 19th this year for Juneteenth, and honestly didn't know the history behind it until I looked it up. Apparently it's a pretty big deal - marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas finally got the news they were free. Took a while for that message to reach there, which is kind of wild.

So yeah, if you're a trader or investor, June 19th stock market will be completely shut down. NYSE, Nasdaq, all of it. Even the bond markets are closed. I always forget about these federal holidays until I try to place a trade and nothing goes through lol. The market reopens the next day at 9:30 a.m. ET, so it's just a one-day break.

What's interesting is how Juneteenth has been getting more recognition lately. It became an official federal holiday back in 2021, and now more people are actually learning what it means instead of just knowing the june 19th stock market is closed. There are virtual events, museum celebrations, performances happening to mark the day. Kind of cool that it's becoming more mainstream. Anyway, mark your calendar if you're planning trades around that date.
