The major shareholders of listed companies are appearing as securities firms; opportunities for resource sector allocation continue to emerge.
As the 2025 annual reports of A-share listed companies are gradually released, one of the key investment institutions in the market—brokerages’ major holdings—are also beginning to surface. Data shows that as of 3:00 PM Beijing time on March 13, when this report was published, at least six listed companies’ top ten circulating shareholders include brokerage firms. From the changes in holdings, in the fourth quarter of 2025, Chongqing Beer saw a slight increase in holdings by CITIC Construction Investment, and brokerage firms appeared among the top ten circulating shareholders of Dajin Heavy Industry, Chaoyang Technology, and Jinhe Commercial Management. Since entering 2026, cyclical sectors represented by resource commodities have performed better in the A-share market. While continuing to focus on technological investment opportunities, more and more institutions are also turning their attention to the resource sector, with investment value in sub-sectors like coal and electricity continuing to emerge.
