These days, there's been a lot of talk about royalties in the secondary market, basically everyone just wants to buy and sell more cheaply, but creators still need to make a living... I used to strongly support "mandatory royalties," after all, creating pixel art one by one isn't just a couple of mouse clicks. But the reality is, as soon as the platform loosens up, liquidity immediately flows out, the artwork page remains, but the buzz is gone, and the creator also cools down.
I no longer believe in the saying "as long as the community loves it enough, they will voluntarily pay royalties." Attention now moves too quickly; today, with memes and celebrities shouting, you get FOMO, and tomorrow, you'll switch to a different track. Veteran players advising newcomers not to take the last step really isn’t pretending. Anyway, my current approach is pretty timid: when I see the buzz rising, I first shrink my position, and only slowly accumulate the works I truly like—don't use emotions as a way to pay.
