Been looking at some good mutual funds to buy lately and came across these three Lazard funds that caught my attention. They all have solid track records and reasonable fees compared to what's out there.
First one is the Emerging Markets Equity Portfolio (LZOEX). It's been putting up decent numbers - 22.9% over three years, 12.5% over five years. The fund manager's been at it since 2001, so he knows what he's doing. They're heavy in semiconductor and infrastructure plays, which makes sense given where the world's heading. Expense ratio is 1.33%, which isn't bad.
Then there's the Global Listed Infrastructure Portfolio (GLFOX). This one invests in utilities, pipelines, airports, that kind of stuff. Pretty stable sector honestly. Returns are 13% across both the 3 and 5-year periods. Low fees at 1.21%. John Mulquiney's been running this since 2009.
Last is the Enhanced Opportunities Open (LEOOX). This one's a bit different - convertible bonds and preferred securities mostly. Returns are more modest at 8.7% and 5.2% respectively, but if you're looking for something less volatile it could work. Fee is 1.60%.
All three have strong Zacks ratings and minimum investments under $5k. Not saying these are guaranteed winners or anything, but they seem like reasonable options if you're trying to build a solid portfolio with good mutual funds to buy. What's your take - anyone holding any of these?
