I’ve recently been getting that itch to chase those “on-chain signals,” but I’ve found that in many cases it’s not that I’m slow—it’s that what I’m seeing on-chain is already late… The browser/dashboard you’re watching, to be blunt, is all just data being fed by nodes/RPCs/indexers. If any one link stalls, you end up thinking, “Smart money just entered,” when actually they’ve already run out—and even used you as liquidity along the way.
Even funnier is that people are touting AI agents for “full-chain, second-level” automated trading reactions, while they pick a free RPC that keeps dropping connections, and their security just comes down to prayer. Anyway, now when I see “on-chain anomalies,” I first ask one question: Did this really happen, or am I just watching a delayed replay? If I don’t get it clear, I’ll FOMO—that’s basically asking for trouble.
