Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and General Manager of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Cai Jianchun, said at a meeting of the CPPCC Economic Sector Group that the Shanghai Stock Exchange will support financing, mergers, and acquisitions for enterprises focused on technological innovation and transformation and upgrading. In particular, on the STAR Market, it will help implement the regularization of listings, financing, and mergers and acquisitions for technology-based companies that achieve breakthroughs in key core technologies, and will carry out the work requirements for the “green channel.” In response to the proposal in the Government Work Report to “expand the exit channels for private equity and venture capital funds,” Cai Jianchun believes that the capital market should further optimize and expand diversified exit channels, and should not think only from the perspective of IPOs—it should also comprehensively consider exit channels such as mergers and acquisitions.
