Canterbury Park Holding Corporation was incorporated under Minnesota law on March 24, 1994, and acquired the racetrack on March 29, 1994. Starting from May 6, 1994, it operated a seven-day weekly broadcast schedule. In May 1995, it launched live horse racing broadcasts and seasonal pari-mutuel betting, generally from early May to early September. In Shakopee, Minnesota, the company conducts pari-mutuel betting at Canterbury Park Racecourse and at card casino facilities, including “no bank account” card games. The pari-mutuel betting includes wagers on thoroughbred and seasonal horse races. The company also broadcasts races and betting activities on the track throughout the year. The “no bank account” card games involve players competing against each other at the casino. The company also generates revenue from related services and activities such as promotions, parking, advertising, publication sales, and other entertainment events held at the racecourse.
