Jean-Didier Berger, France’s Minister of the Interior, said at Paris Blockchain Week that France is preparing to introduce new measures to protect cryptocurrency holders. He revealed that the authorities have launched a prevention platform and attracted thousands of people to register, while they are also working with Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez to develop stricter response measures, which are expected to be rolled out within the coming weeks.





According to local news outlet RTL, since the beginning of this year, France has reported 41 cryptocurrency-related kidnapping cases, meaning a similar attack happens on average once every 2.5 days in 2026.
