Greece reports first foot-and-mouth disease case in 25 years

Recently, Greece reported its first case of foot-and-mouth disease infection. As a result, starting from the 19th, dairy products produced on Lesbos Island, located in eastern Greece near Turkey, where the outbreak occurred, will no longer be sold externally. This is the first time Greece has reported this epidemic in 25 years. Currently, the Greek government has designated Lesbos Island as a strictly controlled area, and all animals on farms involved in the outbreak will be culled, with related animal products destroyed.
