The U.S. government bypassed Congress to approve over $150 million in military sales to Israel.

On March 6 local time, the U.S. State Department said it has approved the sale to Israel of arms and related support services worth approximately $152 million. In a statement, the U.S. State Department said that Israel has requested to purchase 12,000 BLU-110A/B type general-purpose bombs. U.S. Secretary of State Rubio determined that there is an “emergency,” and therefore the deal for the Israel Defense Forces should be completed “bypassing the congressional review process” immediately.
