Ministry of Education: Will thoroughly carry out special governance on campus meal, education, and auxiliary subscription issues

On the morning of March 7, the 14th National People’s Congress (fourth session) held a press conference on livelihood topics. Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng said that the next step will focus on comprehensively building a fair and high-quality basic education system, implementing major projects in basic education, and concentrating on four key tasks: first, expanding and improving quality to promote fairness; second, nurturing excellent educational resources to enhance quality; third, strengthening and benefiting teachers to lay a solid foundation; and fourth, standardizing governance to ensure safety. “We will carry out a special campaign for campus safety. Together with departments including public security, health, market regulation, and others, we will strengthen the campus safety barrier with stricter and more practical measures, and continue to clean up and rectify violations such as running schools illegally, requiring study beyond allotted hours, campus bullying, and others.
