So Congressman August Pfluger just got several Texas counties added to the FEMA disaster declaration after those brutal July floods. We're talking Kimble, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, San Saba, and Tom Green all getting federal assistance now. Pretty significant move for communities that got hit hard.
What's interesting is looking at the bigger picture here - Pfluger's been pushing hard on these recovery efforts. I looked into his background and apparently his net worth sits around $1.6M according to some estimates, which puts him at like 247th in Congress wealth rankings. Not exactly rolling in it compared to some of these other politicians, right? But it does give you context on who you're dealing with.
The fundraising numbers are pretty telling too. Guy raised $225.7K in Q2 2025 and had about $3M cash on hand by the end of that period. So he's got resources to work with, which probably helps when you're trying to push through federal disaster assistance for your district. His August Pfluger net worth situation suggests he's probably more focused on his political work than building personal wealth, honestly.
Either way, if you're in those affected counties, FEMA's got a website where you can file for assistance. Seems like the political machinery is at least moving on this one.
